Welcome To Mathematics

The department of Mathematics was established in the year of 1990 and as a special subject began in the year of 1992. The faculty is adequate and competent to teach the subject at undergraduate level. The students admitted to the first year are coming from both rural and hilly areas with varied economic status and moderate to good language ability. The faculty of the department is actively participated in teaching syllabus and revision by suggesting their views in the syllabus workshops organized by S. P. Pune university Pune at the various colleges. The department has 09 computers and internet facility. The faculty uses LED projector, as a ICT tool, for the power point presentation for effective teaching – learning . Department is committed to quality in the higher education and fulfillment of social needs.
All the faculties are engaged in academic and personal counseling of the students. The faculty members have actively participated in attending state , national level seminars and published three research paper in reputed journal . The department regularly conducts guest lectures of experts. The department also conducts various activities like, power point presentation workshop, student’s seminars, Mathematics quiz and Poster Presentation Competition. Winners in various competitions are bestowed upon the prizes to make them enthusiastic about competitions in Mathematics. Department also guides students to make them competent for various examinations. Some alumni of the department have occupied. coveted position in research area and in society. The best activity of the department is "Madhava Mathematics Competition" conducted by T.I.F.R. Mumbai and S.P.College Pune.
Highlights:-
For overall development of the students and to develop presentation skills of the students, department provides the opportunities by conducting seminars of students. In the Avishkar competition S.Y.B.Sc. students actively participated presenting their 06 projects. Of which 02 were selected at University level. Further one Project “Magic Of Pascal’s Triangle” was selected for state level in academic year 2016-17. In Madhava Mathematics National Level Competition Conducted by T.I.F.R. Mumbai and S.P. College Pune held on 7th January 2018 Fourteen students grabbed cash prizes of Rs 11,100 /-securing First ,Second and Third numbers. Also in Madhava Mathematics National level Competition Conducted by T.I.F.R. Mumbai and S.P. College Pune held on 12th January 2020, 07 students grabbed cash prizes of Rs. 6250/- securing First ,Second and Third numbers.
