DEPARTMENT OF SANSKRIT
The subject Sanskrit was introduced in the College at general level during the academic year 1991-92. ‘Sanskrit’ was introduced at Special level during the academic year 1994-95.
The department offers edification for undergraduate course under Arts faculty along with special level Sanskrit education since academic year 1994-95.
The Department of Sanskrit organizes various students’ seminar and extension lectures. Study tours at various Pilgrimage and Religious places are organized by the department in every academic year. The department has been regularly participating in “Dandakaranya Abhiyan” since five year.
Sanskrit is one of the oldest spoken languages not only in India but also in the entire world. In fact, its use has declined with time, the language is spoken in very few places, but even today the importance of speaking and writing Sanskrit has not diminished, there are various opportunities for careers in Sanskrit.One can get an opportunity to serve in many fields like teacher, professor, Sanskrit scholar, typewriter, translator, writer, poet, researcher, Sanskrit historian, most importantly, the demand for this subject is equally high in foreign countries.
Keeping in mind the overall development of the students, the students are encouraged to participate spontaneously in various activities from time to time, considering the place of Sanskrit in the whole world in the growing globalization, making students aware about the subject of Sanskrit, that there is an opportunity to make a career in Sanskrit is inculcated in the students from time to time.
